Reverse description Herakles depicted nude, standing facing left in a relaxed contrapposto stance, holding a club in his right hand and draping the Nemean lion's skin over his left arm. The Greek legend ΗΡΑΚΛΕΟΥΣ runs vertically to the right of the figure, ΣΩΤΗΡΟΣ to the left, and ΘΑΣΙΩΝ in the lower field, closely imitating the inscriptions of the civic Thasian tetradrachm prototype. The overall execution reflects a Celtic interpretation of the Hellenistic type, with some stylization in the musculature and proportions.
