The Greek circular legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΝ ΣΩΤΗΡ ΜΕΓΑΣ (King of Kings, the Great Saviour) runs along the periphery of the flan, reflecting the Hellenistic titulature adopted by Kushan rulers. The reverse design is characteristic of the anonymous Soter Megas coinage, blending Greek epigraphic tradition with Central Asian royal imagery. |
