| Obverse description | Facing right, the youthful head of Herakles in three-quarter profile, depicted with idealized classical features and rendered in high relief. The hero is clad in the Nemean lion skin, the scalp of the lion's head serving as a cap and the paws knotted at the base of the neck. The mane and facial features of the lion skin are rendered in fine detail, framing the face of Herakles. A beaded border surrounds the design at the coin's periphery. |

| Reverse description | Zeus Nikephoros seated left on a throne, nude to the waist with a himation draped across his lower body and legs, holding an eagle standing right in his extended right hand and a long sceptre in his left. The legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΣΕΛΕΥΚΟΥ is placed to the right and below in the field, with control marks and monograms appearing to the left of the figure and beneath the throne seat. The composition closely follows the Alexandrine reverse type, with the addition of the royal titulature identifying Seleukos I as king. |
