Obverse description Celticised laureate head of Apollo facing right, rendered in a bold, somewhat abstracted Celtic artistic style derived from the Macedonian prototype of Patraos. The hair is depicted with large, stylised leafy locks radiating around the head, and the laurel wreath is rendered with schematic, fleshy leaves. The facial features are simplified yet expressive, with a pronounced jaw and smooth cheek. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border.

Reverse description A mounted warrior on a horse rearing to the right, poised to deliver a spear-thrust downward toward a fallen or crouching enemy who defends himself with a raised round shield. The composition closely follows the Macedonian tetradrachm of Patraos, king of the Paionians, though rendered in a Celticised, more schematic style. The Greek inscription ΠATPAOY appears before the horseman in the left field. The scene is set within a plain field with no exergue line.
