To the left of the bow case, the ethnic abbreviation ΛAO identifies the issuing city of Laodikeia. To the right, a winged kerykeion (caduceus) is depicted as a secondary symbol. Between the heads of the two serpents, the magistrate's name NIKOΔIKOC is inscribed in two lines, identifying this issue within the cistophoric series of Laodikeia in Phrygia. |
