The king's luxuriant, flowing hair is depicted in bold, deeply cut locks radiating dynamically from the crown, a hallmark of the Pontic royal coinage style. A simple royal diadem is tied around the head, its ends visible behind the neck. The portrait is executed in high relief with strong facial modeling, conveying both regal authority and divine pretension characteristic of late Hellenistic portraiture. |
