The royal Greek legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΜΙΘΡΑΔΑΤΟΥ curves around the field to the right and left of the central figure, identifying the issuer as King Mithradates. The composition closely follows the Seleucid and Macedonian Hellenistic numismatic tradition. |
