Lysimachus began issuing tetradrachms bearing the deified image of Alexander the Great around 297 BC, a calculated political move — claiming divine legitimacy through association with the dead conqueror rather than through his own considerably more modest credentials. The Kolophon mint, one of several western Anatolian cities under his control following the battle of Ipsus in 301 BC, struck for only a brief window before Lysimachus consolidated or shifted production elsewhere.
The HGC reference 1750f designation places this among the less documented die pairings from the Kolophon series, with no corresponding Müller number assigned.
