A Greek legend surrounds the design in the field, reading ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΜΕΓΑΛΟΥ ΕΥΚΡΑΤΙΔΟΥ, identifying the prototype ruler as 'Great King Eukratides.' The overall composition reflects the Indo-Scythian practice of appropriating Hellenistic royal imagery to assert dynastic legitimacy. |
