Reverse description The reverse depicts a horseman advancing to the right, shown wearing a crested helmet and riding at a gallop, in close imitation of the reverse type of Eukratides I of Baktria. The figure holds a spear or lance and is rendered in a vigorous but somewhat provincial style. A Greek legend surrounds the design in the field, reading ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΜΕΓΑΛΟΥ ΕΥΚΡΑΤΙΔΟΥ, identifying the prototype ruler as 'Great King Eukratides.' The overall composition reflects the Indo-Scythian practice of appropriating Hellenistic royal imagery to assert dynastic legitimacy.
