The royal legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ to the right and ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ to the left frame the central design vertically, identifying this posthumous issue as struck in the name of Alexander III the Great. The style is characteristic of the Odessos mint's late Hellenistic coinage. |
