| Opis awersu | Youthful, beardless head of Heracles facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style, enveloped in the scalp of the Nemean lion, with the beast's gaping jaws framing the top of the head and the paws knotted at the throat. The facial features are idealized and finely modeled, with curling locks of hair visible beneath the lion-skin headdress. The broad, irregular flan is characteristic of posthumous Alexandrine coinage struck at Temnos. No legend appears on the obverse. |
