| Description du revers | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a low throne, his upper body nude and his lower body draped; he extends his right hand forward bearing an eagle with closed wings, while his left hand grasps a long upright sceptre. In the left field, a round Macedonian shield serves as the principal control symbol. The royal legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs downward along the right field, identifying the issue as struck in the name of Alexander III. The composition is rendered with authoritative classical draughtsmanship consistent with the royal Pella workshop. |
