| Obverse description | Youthful head of Heracles facing right, depicted beardless and idealised, wearing the Nemean lion-skin headdress, the scalp secured over the crown with the forepaws knotted at the throat; the finely rendered curling hair escapes beneath the pelt at the temple. The modelling is bold and high-relief, characteristic of early Pella mint production, with a beaded border encircling the field. |

| Reverse description | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a low throne, his upper body nude and his lower body draped; he extends his right hand forward bearing an eagle with closed wings, while his left hand grasps a long upright sceptre. In the left field, a round Macedonian shield serves as the principal control symbol. The royal legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs downward along the right field, identifying the issue as struck in the name of Alexander III. The composition is rendered with authoritative classical draughtsmanship consistent with the royal Pella workshop. |
