| Descrizione del dritto | Youthful, beardless head of Heracles facing right, depicted in three-quarter relief in the Lysippan tradition, enveloped in the scalp of the Nemean lion whose gaping jaws frame the hero's crown and temples. The finely modelled facial features display idealized Classical workmanship, with the lion's pelt knotted beneath the chin and its forelegs draped over the shoulders. No legend appears on the obverse, the entire field being devoted to this iconic divine image. The flan exhibits characteristic hammered irregularity with attractive cabinet toning. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a low backless throne (diphros), his muscular torso nude to the waist and lower body draped, holding an eagle perched on his outstretched right hand and a long sceptre upright in his left. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field, reading 'of Alexander,' while the monogram or control mark ΣΙ appears in the left field as a mint officina symbol. The composition follows the canonical Alexandrine reverse type established at the royal mint of Pella, displaying bold, confident engraving consistent with early post-reform production. |
