The portrait exhibits fine Hellenistic workmanship with deeply modelled curling hair visible beneath the headdress, strong classical facial features, and a prominent brow. A beaded border frames the design. The idealized effigy is widely understood to carry a veiled portrait likeness of Alexander III himself. |

In the left field, a hand symbol appears above, and a monogram is placed below the throne as a mint control mark. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field, reading downward. The composition follows the standard Alexandrine reverse type established at the Pella mint. |
