| Beschrijving keerzijde | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a low stool-throne, his right arm extended to support an eagle with spread wings, his left hand grasping a long sceptre rising diagonally behind him; his body is draped from the waist, rendered in the canonical Alexandrine type. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the upper right field. In the left field appear the civic abbreviation ΕΡΥ (for Erythrai), a monogram, and a club — secondary control marks identifying the issuing authority. The entire reverse design is framed within an olive wreath border, a hallmark of the later posthumous issues struck at Erythrai. |
