| Obverse description | Youthful bare head of Heracles facing right, wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress, with the scalp secured over the crown and the lion's open jaw framing the upper forehead; the mane rendered in bold, deeply cut curls cascading behind the neck. The facial features are finely modeled in the Hellenistic tradition, displaying a strong profile with a prominent nose, parted lips, and a sensitively articulated ear visible beneath the headdress. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, consistent with posthumous Alexandrine coinage struck at an Ionian mint. No legend appears on the obverse; the field is plain. |
