The youthful, idealized features display a strong profile with prominent brow, straight nose, and full lips, consistent with the iconographic tradition of Alexander the Great assimilated to Herakles. The flan is struck within a beaded border, and the open field highlights the high-relief workmanship characteristic of the Ekbatana mint. No legend appears on the obverse. |

The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs vertically along the right field, with the letters ΣΩ appearing below the throne as a further control mark. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. |
