| Obverse description | Right-facing heroic portrait of Herakles, depicted wearing the Nemean lion scalp as a headdress, with the lion's mane and paws rendered in fine detail framing the face. The youthful, idealized features display a strong profile with prominent brow, straight nose, and full lips, consistent with the iconographic tradition of Alexander the Great assimilated to Herakles. The flan is struck within a beaded border, and the open field highlights the high-relief workmanship characteristic of the Ekbatana mint. No legend appears on the obverse. |

| Reverse description | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a high-backed throne, his semi-draped body turned three-quarters, holding a long sceptre in his left hand while extending his right hand to present an eagle perched with wings closed. Below the throne, a racing lion is depicted as a control symbol. In the left field, additional mint control symbols including what appears to be a monogram and an anchor are visible. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs vertically along the right field, with the letters ΣΩ appearing below the throne as a further control mark. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. |
