| Beschrijving voorzijde | Youthful, beardless head of Heracles in right profile, wearing the Nemean lion-skin headdress, with the scalp drawn over the crown and the forepaws knotted at the throat. The musculature of the lion's muzzle and pelt are rendered in fine relief, framing the idealized facial features with deeply cut eyes and full lips. The border consists of a raised bead-and-reel pattern encircling the flan. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a low stool-throne, his upper body nude and draped from the waist down; his outstretched right hand supports an eagle with closed wings, while his left hand grasps a tall sceptre. The Greek legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ above and ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ below frames the reverse field. A stag's antler appears as a control symbol in the left field, identifying this issue to the mint of Amphipolis. The composition follows the canonical Alexander-type reverse established at the outset of his reign. |
