Obverse description Youthful head of Herakles in right profile, wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress, the scalp tied beneath the chin with the forepaws knotted at the throat, rendered with finely detailed engraving. The hero's idealized features — strong jaw, pronounced brow, and full lips — reflect the Lysippan portrait tradition associated with Alexander the Great. The reverse of the lion's mane frames the head in bold relief, with the pelt's claws clearly articulated at the neckline. A beaded border (dotted rim) encircles the entire design. The field is plain and unlettered.
