Reverse description Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a backless throne (diphros), his himation draped over his lower body and left arm; in his extended right hand he holds an eagle, and in his raised left hand a long sceptre. The legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the upper and right fields. In the left field, the civic monogram ΜΑ appears above a Corinthian helmet, with the additional control mark ΣΚΑ positioned below the throne, identifying the emission as a posthumous issue of Mesambria. The composition adheres closely to the canonical Alexander tetradrachm reverse type derived from the Amphipolis prototype.
