| Obverse description | Youthful head of Heracles facing right, depicted beardless, wearing the lionskin headdress with the scalp knotted beneath the chin, the pelt's mane rendered in flowing, naturalistic detail. The portrait follows the idealized Lysippan type associated with Alexander III, displaying strong facial features with a prominent brow, high cheekbone, and a slightly parted mouth. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, consistent with the hand-struck technique of the period. The field is plain, with no border of dots visible on this specimen. |
