| Beschrijving voorzijde | Youthful, beardless head of Heracles facing right, his curly hair bound beneath the scalp of a Nemean lion, the beast's muzzle resting upon the forehead and its knotted forepaws draped across the neck. The high-relief portrait displays strong, idealized features with a prominent brow, aquiline nose, and slightly parted lips, characteristic of the Lysippan Alexander type adapted for posthumous Pamphylian coinage. The lion-skin headdress is rendered in fine detail, with the pelt's mane cascading along the left side of the flan. The field is otherwise plain, with a gently convex surface typical of late Hellenistic hammered silver coinage. |
