| Popis rubu | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a high-backed throne, his body nude to the waist, a himation draped over his lower limbs. He holds a long sceptre in his left hand and extends his right hand, upon which perches an eagle with closed wings. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs vertically along the right field. In the left field, the letter A with a pellet appears as a mint control mark, and below the throne a small seated figure serves as an additional symbol. Beneath the throne, a monogram within an incuse square (monogram of the Amphipolis mint) appears in the exergual area, framed by a linear border with dotted inner circle. |
