| Obverse description | Youthful heroic head of Heracles facing right, depicted without beard and enveloped in the Nemean lion-skin headdress, the scalp drawn tightly over the crown with the paws knotted at the throat; the finely modelled facial features display a strong jaw, prominent nose, and parted lips in the Hellenistic tradition. The lion's gaping maw frames the top of the head, with the mane rendered in bold, deeply cut striations falling across the neck and shoulder. The whole is set within a dotted border on a broad, slightly irregular flan characteristic of posthumous Alexandrine coinage struck at Ephesos. |

| Reverse description | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned to the left upon a low stool-throne, his himation draped about the lower body and left arm; his outstretched right hand supports an eagle with closed wings, while his left hand firmly grasps a tall sceptre. In the left field, a quiver symbol appears above a monogram, both serving as mint control marks identifying the Ephesian workshop. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field, affirming the royal name under whose authority this posthumous issue was struck. A dotted border frames the composition. |
