| Beschrijving voorzijde | A spirited horse rearing to the left, rendered in high relief with fine musculature and flowing mane, the trailing rein depicted beneath the animal. The figure is bold and naturalistic in the archaic-classical Greek tradition, occupying the majority of the flan within a beaded border. The ground line beneath the horse and the dynamic posture reflect the accomplished die-cutting characteristic of Thracian mint production of the period. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | A grape arbor or vine motif enclosed within a linear square, around which the magistrate's name is distributed in three segments in the field. To the left of the central device, a Boeotian shield is depicted accompanied by two pellets. The entire composition is set within a shallow incuse square, a technique typical of early Thracian coinage. The legend reading HPO BOY ΛOΣ identifies the issuing magistrate Heroboulos, whose name is divided across the field in the customary manner of Maroneian tetradrachms. |
