Obverse description Jugate draped busts of King Hermaeus and Queen Calliope facing right, with Hermaeus in the foreground wearing a diadem; the royal couple portrayed in the Hellenistic tradition with naturalistic portraiture. A circular Greek legend runs around the periphery of the field, naming both rulers. The flan is irregular in shape, characteristic of hammered coinage of the Indo-Greek period.
