| Reverse description | Zeus Aetophoros enthroned left upon a stool-throne, his body draped, holding an eagle on his extended right hand and a long sceptre upright in his left. In the left field, a monogram appears above a sphinx seated left upon a horizontal amphora, the latter being the characteristic civic badge of Chios. The magistrate's name ΕΥΚΛΕΩΝ appears in the exergue, while the royal legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field. The composition follows the standard Alexandrine reverse type, with the Chian symbols serving as unambiguous mint identifiers. |
