| Beschrijving keerzijde | Two intertwined serpents fill the field, coiling around a central stele or omphalos, rendered with vigorous naturalistic detail in high relief. Above the serpents, a two-line Greek legend reads ΔΙΟΝΥΣΙΟΣ / ΑΤΑΚΗΣ, identifying the magistrates responsible for the issue. To the left of the central device, the city ethnic ΛΑΟ (for Laodikeia) appears, while a thyrsus or plant symbol is visible to the right in the field. The reverse composition follows the standard Cistophoric reverse type established for cities of the Roman province of Asia. |
