Obverse description Diademed head of Demetrius I Poliorcetes facing right, rendered with youthful features and wavy hair swept back beneath a broad diadem, adorned with bull's horns rising above the forehead — a divine attribute associating him with Poseidon. The portrait exhibits the vigorous, idealized Hellenistic style characteristic of court engravers of the early third century BC. A dotted border frames the field.
