The hair is rendered in fine, flowing locks swept back from the brow, with a broad diadem encircling the head. The portrait is executed in a vigorous Hellenistic style, conveying both the youth and heroic power of the king. The field is smooth and the flan edge slightly irregular, characteristic of hammered coinage of the period. |
