Reverse description Poseidon Pelagaios strides vigorously to the left, nude save for a wreath of reeds crowning his head and a chlamys draped over and wrapped around his outstretched left arm. His right arm is raised aloft, poised to hurl a trident, conveying divine power and martial energy in the Hellenistic idiom. In the left field, the monogram ΖΩ appears; to the right, within the inscription, a dolphin swims left above an eight-rayed star, both serving as secondary mint control symbols. The encircling legend reads ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙΟΥ, identifying the issuing king.
