Obverse description Diademed head of Antiochos VIII Epiphanes Gryphos facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with naturalistic portraiture. The king's curly hair is depicted in voluminous locks framing the face, with a royal diadem tied behind the head, its ends falling over the neck. The portrait displays the characteristic aquiline nose associated with the epithet Gryphos (hook-nosed). The field is plain, with no legend on the obverse.

Reverse description Standing figure of Zeus Nikephoros facing left, draped and holding a sceptre in his left hand and a Nike (Victory) figure in his outstretched right hand. The deity stands on a base or podium, and the entire composition is enclosed within a wreath of laurel or olive. Control marks appear in the left field. The royal legend is arranged vertically on either side of the central figure in two columns of Greek text.
