The creature is depicted in a dynamic yet composed posture characteristic of the Abderan civic type. The magistrate's name ΑΝΑΞΗΝΩΡ is inscribed in Greek letters within the field. The entire design is recessed within a shallow incuse square, characteristic of the Abderan tetradrachm series and consistent with the archaic incuse technique employed by this mint. |
