Beschrijving voorzijde Griffin seated to left in profile, with eagle's head, open beak, and upswept crest rendered in fine detail; the right forepaw raised alertly, wings spread and feathers carefully engraved, body covered in scaled texture, tail curling behind. The creature is depicted in a dynamic yet composed posture characteristic of the Abderan civic type. The design is contained within a beaded border running along the inner circumference of the flan.

Beschrijving keerzijde Dionysus, the patron deity of Abdera, standing to left in flowing robes within a linear square frame, holding a kantharos in his outstretched right hand and a conifer branch in his left. The magistrate's name ΑΝΑΞΗΝΩΡ is inscribed in Greek letters within the field. The entire design is recessed within a shallow incuse square, characteristic of the Abderan tetradrachm series and consistent with the archaic incuse technique employed by this mint.
