| Reverse description | Apollo seated left upon the omphalos, his draped figure depicted in a relaxed pose; he extends his right hand forward presenting a phiale, while his left arm rests upon a lyre set at his side. To the left of the figure, a civic monogram appears above a ship's prow, the latter being a recurrent device on Kyzikene coinage referencing the city's maritime prominence. The inscription KY ZI, the abbreviated ethnic of Kyzikos, is disposed in the field, rendered in the Greek alphabet in clear, well-spaced letters. |
