| Reverse description | Laureate head of Apollo facing right, rendered in fine, high-relief engraving in the mature Classical Sicilian style; the god's hair is arranged in thick, naturalistic curls beneath a wreath of laurel leaves. The portrait fills the flan with commanding presence, exhibiting the idealized facial features and sensitive modeling characteristic of the great Katanean die-engravers of the late fifth century BC.
