The ethnic legend ΣΥΡΑΚΟΣΙΟΣ arcs above the portrait. Beneath the chin, the engraver's signature ΕΥΚΛ/ΕΙΔΑ is inscribed in two lines on a tablet (diptych), identifying the die-cutter as Eukleidas.
