Obverse description Youthful head of the beardless Herakles in right profile, wearing the Nemean lion-skin headdress, with the lion's scalp knotted at the throat and its mane rendered in flowing, naturalistic detail across the neck and shoulder. The facial features are finely modelled in the Hellenistic tradition, exhibiting a strong brow, prominent nose, and slightly parted lips. The lion's gaping muzzle and paws are visible framing the hero's head. No legend appears on the obverse field.
