She extends her right arm forward, apparently holding a wreath or fillet, while her left arm hangs at her side. The ethnic legend ΚΑΤΑΝΑΙΟΝ is inscribed in Greek characters to the right of the figure within the field, identifying the issuing city of Katane. The reverse is executed in a refined early Classical style, with careful attention to the drapery folds and feather details of the wings. |
