Before her stands Eros to the right, a small winged figure who raises his right hand in a gesture of address or greeting. The scene is rendered in a classical Sicilian style, with fluid drapery and well-articulated figural forms. The ethnic legend ΕΡΥΚΙΝΟΝ is inscribed in the field, identifying the coin as an issue of Eryx and invoking the epithet of the local Aphrodite Erycina. The reverse design underscores the close cultic and civic identity of Eryx with the worship of Aphrodite.
