| Beschrijving voorzijde | Facing radiate head of Helios, rendered in high relief with a naturalistic three-quarter turn slightly to the right; the god's wavy hair radiates outward from the crown and falls in flowing locks around the face, framing a serene and finely modelled visage. The execution displays the accomplished die-cutting characteristic of early Rhodian coinage, with particular attention to the treatment of the hair and the expressive modelling of the facial features. No legend or border is present on the obverse. |

The Greek ethnic legend ΡΟΔΙΟΝ appears above the rose. In the left field, the letter Φ serves as a magistrate's or control mark, while a kylix (drinking cup) is positioned to the right of the rose. The entire design is contained within a recessed square incuse punch, a hallmark of early Rhodian tetradrachm coinage. |
