| Opis rewersu | A stylised silphium plant occupies the central field, depicted frontally with a tall central stalk bearing a flower-head at the apex and clusters of berries or fruit at the branching points, rendered in a schematic yet vivid manner. Two curling lateral branches extend to either side, each terminating in volute scrolls, while a broad leaf or spathe fans out below. The whole design is enclosed within a double incuse border of cable or dotted pattern, and the Greek legend BAP, abbreviating BARKAIΩΝ (of the Barkans), appears to the right of the stalk in the field. |
