Additional information

Tigranes VI ruled as a Roman client king, installed by Gnaeus Domitius Corbulo during Rome's prolonged contest with Parthia over control of Armenia — a conflict that would drag on until the compromise settlement of 63 AD under the Treaty of Rhandeia. His coinage, struck during his roughly two-year tenure, is among the most historically compressed royal issues in the Armenian series. Kovacs 198 is genuinely scarce; the political instability that ended his reign abruptly curtailed whatever mint output had been planned.
