Obverse description Laureate head of Zeus facing right, rendered in archaic Greek style with broad facial features. The portrait is set within a dotted border, typical of Achaean League bronze coinage. The surface shows a deep olive-green patina consistent with prolonged burial. The treatment of the hair and laurel wreath is stylized, characteristic of Peloponnesian mint workmanship of the second century BC. The legend ΠAΣΩN appears in the field, identifying the issuing city of Phlious.
