| Description de l’avers | Facing right, the youthful diademed head of Mithridates VI Eupator depicted in the Hellenistic royal portrait tradition, with flowing, disheveled locks rendered in deep relief. The portrait exhibits the characteristic lion-like mane and idealized heroic features associated with the Pontic king's coinage, evoking the imagery of Alexander the Great and Herakles. The die work is bold, with strong modeling of the facial features including a prominent brow and fleshy cheeks. The field is plain and unlettered on the obverse. The flan is irregular, typical of provincial bronze coinage of the late Hellenistic period. |

A star appears in the upper right field, a dynastic symbol frequently associated with the coinage of Mithridates VI. The composition is typical of Pontic bronze issues, combining the Seleucid-derived eagle motif with royal Pontic emblems. The exergue area is plain. The ethnic legend ΣΙΝΩΠΗΣ is inscribed, identifying the issuing city of Sinope. |
