Flanking the sword on either side, the ethnic legend ΠIMΩ ΛIΣΩN is inscribed in two lines in Greek characters across the field, identifying the issuing civic authority of Pimolisa. The overall composition is characteristic of Pontic municipal bronze issues struck under the authority of Mithridates VI. |
