| Description de l’avers | Bare head of Ares facing right, wearing a Corinthian helmet pushed back on the head, rendered in a bold Hellenistic style with naturalistic facial features. The cheek guards of the helmet are raised, exposing the face, with flowing locks of hair visible beneath the helmet rim at the nape. The portrait is executed in high relief against a plain field, characteristic of Pontic civic bronze coinage of the Mithridatic period. |

| Description du revers | A sheathed sword in scabbard depicted vertically at centre, with the hilt surmounted by an ornamental pommel at the top and a curved chape at the lower end, the weapon suspended by a baldric strap. Flanking the sword on either side, the ethnic legend ΠIMΩ ΛIΣΩN is inscribed in two lines in Greek characters across the field, identifying the issuing civic authority of Pimolisa. The overall composition is characteristic of Pontic municipal bronze issues struck under the authority of Mithridates VI. |
