Reverse description The archaic Dorian letter San (Ϻ), the regional variant of the letter M used as an abbreviation for Sikyon, boldly occupying the centre of a deeply recessed incuse square. The incuse is well-defined with sharp edges, and the letter is rendered in raised relief within the depression, a technique characteristic of early Peloponnesian fractional silver coinage of the late archaic period.
